STATIC KNIFE ATTACKS
1.1 The learner will
demonstrate knowledge of the strategies involved with
defending against a static weapon attack.
1.2 The learner will
demonstrate knowledge of defending against the following
knife attacks.
[a] Knife to the throat
- both sides.
[b] Knife point to the throat.
[c] Knife point to the stomach.
[d] Knife to throat from behind.
[e] Knife point to lower back.
Assessment criteria
4.1 The learner will
be able to demonstrate the effective application of
each technique from both left and right hand attacks.
4.2 The learner will
be able to demonstrate each technique with reference
to balance, body safety and practicability of the technique
demonstrated.

MOVING ATTACKS WITH
EDGED WEAPONS
2.1 The learner will
demonstrate defences against a stabbing attack to the
chest.
2.2 The learner will
demonstrate defences against an overhead stab to the
chest.
2.3 The learner will
demonstrate defences against a slashing knife attack
to the chest
Assessment criteria
The learner will be
able to demonstrate the effective application of each
technique from both left and right hand attacks.

MOVING ATTACKS WITH
BLUNT WEAPONS
3.1 The learner will
demonstrate defences against an overhead baton attack.
3.2 The learner will
demonstrate defences against a swinging baton attack.
3.3 The learner will
demonstrate defences against an overhead baseball bat
attack.
3.4 The learner will
demonstrate defences against a swinging baseball bat
attack.

ARMED WITH A HANDGUN
4.1 The learner will
demonstrate knowledge of the rules of handgun disarming
techniques.
4.2 The learner will
demonstrate knowledge of when disarming an assailant
armed with a handgun is not possible.
4.3 The learner will
demonstrate defensive methods when dealing with the
following handgun threats.
[a] Handgun to body
from front.
[b] Handgun to head from front.
[c] Handgun to body from side.
[d] Handgun to head from side.
[e] Handgun to body from behind.
[f] Handgun to head from behind.
